Lilford ward receives a STAR award

Lilford Ward team receiving the STAR Award in January 2024
On Wednesday, 03 January, we celebrated colleagues on Lilford ward who were awarded a STAR award - a first at our hospital. This is the result of the ward achieving a GOLD award in our Excellence in Care ward accreditation scheme four times in-a-row.

The award was given to colleagues on Liford ward by Jayne Skippen, Chief Nursing Officer.

“This is the first ward at our hospital to achieve STAR status and is a sign of the hard work and dedication to providing excellent patient care by colleagues over a period of time. We are incredibly proud of our colleagues on reaching this milestone.”

The Excellence in Care Ward accreditation scheme gives a GOLD award to those wards which demonstrate their level of care to patients by bringing together key measures of nursing and clinical care into an overarching framework.

This is aligned to the CQC standards of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led and embodied by the Trusts values.
