The Corby Broadleaf Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is located on Willowbrook Road, Corby, NN17 2FD. For what3words: ///probing.prune.plump.

Please note,  the Community Diagnostic Centre is not part of the Willowbrook Health Complex, instead it has its own entrance on Willowbrook Road. There is free parking on site, and the Community Diagnostic Centreis on several local bus routes.

The centre is open seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm. Patients will be referred for diagnostic tests by their GP or hospital consultant, ensuring timely access to essential services closer to home.


The aims of the Community Diagnostic Centre are: 

  • Improve population health outcomes by earlier diagnoses of significant health conditions
  • To increase diagnostic capacity in terms of workforce, facilities, and equipment
  • To improve productivity and efficiency of diagnostic activity
  • To deliver a better, more personalised diagnostic experience
  • To contribute to reducing health inequalities.

Corby Diagnostic Centre will carry out:

  • MRI scans - used to diagnose or monitor a wide range of conditions and injuries.
  • CT scans - used to detect and monitor conditions such as broken bones, strokes, cancers, and digestive issues
  • Ultrasound scans - used to diagnose a variety of internal conditions
  • Echocardiography tests - used to assess heart function

Corby Community Centre receptionThe centre also offers a range of respiratory, heart, and blood tests. A dedicated dementia pathway is supporting faster diagnosis using MRI and CT imaging, and additional diagnostic pathways under development include tests for breathlessness, asthma in children and young people, post-menopausal bleeding, and faecal testing for bowel cancer.

The Community Diagnostic Centres in Northamptonshire is run by the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group, and the NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board oversee the work. 

There are currently two community Diagnostic Centres, one in Corby and one in the Kings Heath area of Northampton. The Corby Community Diagnostic Centre opened in June 2025, and the Kings Heath Community Diagnostic Centre opened in November 2024. We are also developing plans for a new Community Diagnostic Centre and Elective Surgery Hub in Wellingborough.

The Corby Community Diagnostic Centre belongs to a wider government plan to help tackle diagnostics waiting time backlogs and speed-up vital care for local patients. More information can be found on the government website.

Corby Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is marking its first anniversary after a successful year providing thousands of tests and scans for local patients.

The £11.7m facility, which opened in June 2025, delivered more than 55,000 diagnostic tests and scans in its first nine months, with around 94,000 tests expected to be delivered over the next year.

The Centre - also known as Broadleaf House - is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm for pre-booked appointments and supports GPs and hospital teams to diagnose a range of conditions earlier.

These include cancer, respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease, stroke and diabetes. The CDC is also developing new pathways to make it easier to coordinate tests for conditions such as dementia, children's asthma and breathlessness. Some of these are already being piloted.

Director of Strategy for the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group, Polly Grimmett, said: “Corby Community Diagnostic Centre has had a strong first year and is delivering what it was set up to do, providing high-quality diagnostic tests for local people in a convenient setting away from our main Kettering General Hospital site.

"It is helping more patients to be seen closer to home and supporting earlier diagnosis across a range of conditions. We're pleased with the progress so far and will continue to build on this to improve access for our communities.”

Over its first year, Corby CDC has provided:

  • 5,145 MRI scans
  • 8,171 CT scans
  • 8,745 ultrasound scans
  • 3,139 echocardiography tests
  • over 25,000 blood tests

Alongside a range of cardiac investigations and respiratory tests.

Claire Day, UHN Programme Lead for our Community Diagnostic Centres, said: “At Corby we are proud to offer a wide range of diagnostic tests in one place, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, phlebotomy, echocardiography, respiratory testing and cardiac investigations.

“The centre was developed to make it easier for people to access tests closer to home, meaning many patients no longer need to travel to Kettering General Hospital for routine diagnostics.”
