Northampton Community Diagnostic Centre - Kings Heath
A new Community Diagnostic Centre is now open adjacent to the Kings Heath General Practice in Northampton. Inside there is MRI and CT scanning equipment as well as Echocardiogram and Ultrasound equipment. This will help with earlier diagnosis of conditions such as cancer and heart disease, and help patients access the life-saving treatments they need quickly. 
 
The Community Diagnostic Centre in Northamptonshire is run by the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group, and the NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board will oversee the work.
 
The Community Diagnostic Centre provides services including:
  • Imaging services for MRI and CT located externally to the GP practice
  • Echocardiography and Ultrasound located within the GP practice building
 
The aims of the Community Diagnostic Centre are:
  • Improve population health outcomes by earlier diagnoses of significant health conditions
  • To increase diagnostic capacity in terms of workforce, facilities and equipment
  • To improve productivity and efficiency of diagnostic activity.

Corby Community Diagnostic Centre building has arrived

Corby modules in place at diagnostic centre Corby

Starting on August 27 the new local NHS Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) building in Corby took shape rapidly with modules craned into place over 5 days .

The building is due to open in the spring next year, within the Willowbrook Health Complex in Corby. The building will house equipment for essential diagnostic tests, helping patients to access these tests quicker than waiting for a hospital appointment.
