Patient Engagement

The experiences that patients, the public and health professionals have when they receive or deliver healthcare services are valuable sources of information that can be used to improve care and transform services. More often than not, when making decisions about services transformation, strategy or new pathway designs, we only listen to healthcare professionals’ experiences and leave the patients behind.

Patients and the public can lend a very different perspective to that of experts and the importance of seeking a patient perspective is recognised within the research community.

Kettering General and Northampton General Hospitals have created a pool of patients that would be willing to work with our departments and offer their opinions on our work. The Patient Engagement Pool is a group of local people who volunteer their time and skills and work in partnership with the hospitals.

Would you like to help our hospitals to shape our services and develop the way we do things?
