Prosthesis fitting clinics

Specially trained prosthesis fitters visit the Breast Unit regularly to provide a breast prosthesis fitting service for our patients.

 

If you have had a mastectomy (removal of the whole breast) you will be offered a temporary prosthesis (called a ‘softie’ - a lightweight fabric breast shape to put inside your bra). After surgery and when the wound is healed, you will be offered an appointment with the specialist prosthesis fitter for a silicone breast prosthesis and bra advice.
