Nutrition support
Depending on your diagnosis, you may require additional
nutritional advice. You may be referred to a Dietitian who will be able to tailor advice for patients both pre-operatively and post surgery when reintroducing eating.
Dietitians are the only qualified health professionals that can assess, diagnose and treat diet and nutrition problems. Based at Kettering General Hospital the Colorectal team work with a small team of dietitians, from Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust who specialise in gastroenterology and surgical conditions.
Should it be required a follow up appointment can be offered to those who require additional support, once patients are discharged from hospital.
