Today we welcomed Rosie Wrighting MP to KGH

Rosie Wrighting MP - Visit 12 July 2024 inside a treatment room in the Urology Centre

Today we welcomed Rosie Wrighting, newly elected Labour MP for Kettering. We were pleased to discuss our new hospital plans and hopes for the future development of our hospital, including our new energy centre.

Many of the building at our hospital are in a poor state of repair with some over 100 years old, still be used to delivery clinical services. The hospital opened in 1897 and the population in the area has already grown by double the national average over recent years with further predicted growth of 40% over the next 30 years.

Rosie Wrighting MP Visit 12 July 2024 with the boiler unit in the Treatment Centre Car ParkMs Wrighting spent time with colleagues from our Emergency Department and touring the current facilities. Our Emergency Department see more than 290 patients each day and more than 100,000 each year. When the ED department opened in 1993 it was designed to see about 40,000 patients per year, about 100 per day.

The visit was rounded off with a tour of our new Urology centre, meeting the team and finding out more about how we improve patient experience with a streamline service, to minimise the number of patients appointments, with a new one-stop pathway.

This is achieved by putting specialist colleagues and testing facilities all under one roof, enabling patients to have a variety of key tests and see a consultant all on the same day.  We would like to thank Rose Wrighting for visiting our hospital.     Rosie Wrighting MP Visit 12 July 2024 Outside the Treatment Centre meeting the Urology Team
