KGH procedure for angina offers new hope for some patients

Cardiac team who performed the procedure

Consultant cardiologists at Kettering General Hospital are carrying out a new kind of heart procedure for the first time in Northamptonshire.

  The procedure is called a Coronary Sinus Reducer Implantation – which can be used when all conventional treatments for angina (chest pain caused by restricted blood flow to heart muscle) have failed.

Macmillan Cancer Support Centre continues to help patients

The Macmillan Cancer Support Centre at Kettering General Hospital has received a quality assessment award plaque for the way it supports people living with cancer.

The centre – which has been operating since May 2022 - achieved the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) last year and since then has been going from strength-to-strength.

Pictured with the plaque, which has just arrived, are Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Lead, Danielle Bates, Macmillan Personalised Care and Information and Support Lead, Allie Gac, and Head of Nursing for Cancer, Ruth Giles.

Three members of our UHN Digital team have won their categories in the national Digital Health Networks awards.

Natasha Chare, Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) has won CIO of the Year, Ramandeep Kaur, Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), has won CCIO of the Year, and Tosin Akinlabi, Clinical Safety Officer, has won Rising Star of the Year.
