Kettering General Hospital has signed an NHS pledge to dramatically reduce plastic waste such as single-use cups, cutlery and food pots.

KGH Dragon's Den £100,000 for staff ideas

Patients will benefit from an innovative Dragon’s Den event at Kettering General Hospital where staff will compete to win a share of £100,000

The hospital has worked closely with top local business leaders and entrepreneurs to put on the event on Thursday, February 6, 2020 – which will closely mirror the popular BBC 2 programme.

The last time the Trust did the event – in October 2018 – six innovative ideas were put into practice including the hospital’s patient buggy service which delivers less able patients from our car parks to the main hospital building. This was launched in July 2019 and has now made more than 4,000 journeys.

Safeguarding arrangements at KGH are robust

Kettering General Hospital has received a nationally recognised accreditation for high standards in the way it works to protect children and adults from abuse and neglect.

It is the first NHS Trust in the country to receive the prestigious Leaders in Safeguarding Quality Mark for its safeguarding arrangements.

Leaders in Safeguarding – a national expert organisation – sent its consultants to conduct a thorough audit of the safeguarding arrangements at the hospital and they found it met their standards.

KGH obs and gynae training 2nd best in UK

Kettering General Hospital has been ranked the second best in the UK for the way it delivers obstetric and gynaecology training to junior doctors.

The ranking comes from the Specialty Education Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists which every year collects data on junior doctor training through special forms.

The forms ask junior doctors a wide variety of questions relating to the field which includes their training in areas such as pregnancy, childbirth, the health of the female reproductive system and the use of ultrasound.
