The section of Kettering General Hospital’s A&E department that deals with children is moving to a different location within the hospital.

The move will enable the remaining A&E department to be adults only and give the hospital more capacity for its coronavirus response.

We are extremely grateful to our colleagues in the education sector providing childcare/education support to our staff as Key Workers #WeAreInThisTogether so we can support caring for patients.

We are making a number of changes to our Phlebotomy (blood taking) service as a result of the effects of Coronavirus. These changes will help to ensure we have sufficient staff to provide a safe service and in the case of the KGH changes  minimise the risk to patients of attending a busy hospital site and coming into contact with others who may have the virus.

Between 08:00 and 14:00 on Saturday 21^st March, we will be upgrading our Patient Administration System.  This will mean you will be unable to book, cancel or amend your appointment via the NHS e-Referral Service during this time.  Clinical services will continue to be provided as normal.

Kettering General Hospital has taken delivery of its first electric vehicle as it moves towards a target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

The Renault Kangoo – delivered yesterday (Monday, March 2) - will be used by the hospital’s Estates Department to carry out maintenance work and deliveries to the Trust’s outlying sites such as the Medical Records Department in Robinson Way and Nene Park Outpatients Centre in Irthlingborough.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited Kettering General Hospital overnight to see for himself a busy NHS hospital at work.

Mr Johnson arrived at the hospital at 10.45pm last night (February 27) and met hospital staff and patients before touring various key departments and leaving at 3.20am.

  He was greeted by the Trust’s Chairman, Alan Burns, Chief Executive, Simon Weldon, Medical Director, Prof Andrew Chilton, Chief Operating Officer Jo Fawcus, Director of Nursing and Quality, Leanne Hackshall, and Director of Facilities and Estates, Ian Allen.
