Today, 1 July 2021, colleagues from Kettering General Hospital (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital (NGH) are celebrating having achieved University Hospital status, working with the University of Leicester, the University of Northampton and other academic partners. We are also delighted to announce the launch of our new hospital group, entitled University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) NHS Group.

The professional excellence of medical students, junior doctors and consultants at Kettering General Hospital has been celebrated with an annual award.

 

On June 25, 2021, Kettering General Hospital held its sixth Trainee & Trainer Professional Excellence Awards at the hospital’s Prince William Post Graduate Centre as a virtual presentation and awarding of certificates where this was possible

During the height of the pandemic, we were overwhelmed by the support we received from our local community.

A successful project to provide mums-to-be with complete continuity of care with midwives they know throughout pregnancy, birth, and after care, is being expanded.

 

Kettering General Hospital launched its first continuity of care team in July 2019 in Corby.

 

By September 2020 it had been expanded to cover the whole town with three teams – Eden, Ruby and Diamond.
