County's surgical robot has supported 250 life-saving operations

Surgical Robot Consultant Urologists Mr Hemant Nemade and Prasanna Sooriakumaran and Cons Anaest Sada Chinniah

A state-of-the-art surgical robot has now been used to perform 250 life-saving cancer operations to help improve care for cancer patients.

The University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group – which runs Northampton and Kettering general hospitals – has invested in the £1.7m Surgical Robot as part of its clinical strategy.

Dying Matters: Let’s talk about it!’ a chance to speak to end-of-life experts at KGH

A chance to learn more about death and dying with end-of-life experts from Kettering General Hospital is available at a public online event.
 
The free online event is on Tuesday, July 18, from 2pm-3pm, and is one of a series of events – open to all in the county – which has been arranged by KGH Public Governors.

Visiting restrictions reviewed 1 July 2023

KGH Main Entrance
From Saturday 1 July visitors can see their loved ones from 14:00 to 20:00 daily on all adult inpatient wards, with two visitors per patient at a time. 
 
These visiting hours may vary depending on individual ward circumstances. Separate arrangements are in place for maternity, Critical Care, paediatrics or where the patient is end-of-life. These areas will have local visiting hours and procedures in place.

Macmillan Cancer Support chief officers visit KGH

Macmillan chiefs visit

Key members of the Macmillan cancer charity visited KGH today (Monday, June 26,) to see for themselves how it is transforming care for patients.

Macmillan’s Chief Executive, Gemma Peters, Chief People Officer, Graham Jones, Chief Financial Officer, Steve Clayton, and Chief Information Officer, Rox Heaton, were given a tour of the Macmillan Cancer Support Centre at KGH by our Macmillan Head of Nursing for Cancer Ruth Giles.

They heard from local patient Elaine Kowalczuk, from Kettering, on her continuing cancer journey.
