A nurse, a ward manager and a midwife from Kettering General Hospital have received DAISY Awards to mark their outstanding contributions to patient care.

 Nurse Emily Donaghey was nominated by Natalie Brinkman, from Kettering, after being admitted for an extended stay to the Medical Assessment Unit following an episode of mental illness. Natalie also nominated Interim MAU Ward Manager Sister Emma Ellis.

Nominations for the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) annual staff excellence awards are now open and Kettering General and Northampton General Hospitals are asking the local community to take a moment to shine a light on their local health heroes. 

A local Scout group, supported by two local councillors, have cleaned up and planted flowers in the Intensive Care Rehabilitation Garden at Kettering General Hospital.

 The Volunteers Service at the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) has been awarded a prestigious ‘Investing in Volunteers’ accreditation.

It means the service at both Northampton General Hospital and Kettering General Hospital meets the UK’s gold standard in volunteer management.

Corby’s new £11.7mCommunity Diagnostic Centre (CDC) has opened for business.

  The centre saw its first echocardiography patients on June 18 and CT and MRI scans started from June 23.

  It is open seven days a week from 8am-8pm and people will be referred to it for tests by their GP or by hospital consultants.
