Offering our amazing staff a free breakfast

Jayne Chambers with the coffee machines during the free staff breakfast on 1st April 2020

We have been very fortunate in having a number of local businesses donate food and items to us during these testing times.

This has given us the opportunity to offer our amazing staff a free breakfast this morning. We saw over 700 staff stop by our staff area to have either a bacon roll, cereal, or toast. All with a hot cup of tea or Nespresso coffee.

We ensured that all staff maintained a social distance from each other and our servers.

Jayne Chambers is leading the coordination of the donations into the hospital. She said "I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community"

“We started receiving donations from local businesses a few weeks ago” says Jayne. “We’ve received a wide range of items for our staff. We’ve had everything from bread and chocolate through to coffee machines”

To make the best use of these donations Jayne and the team organised the breakfast as a thank you to our staff who are working long shifts.

"It was lovely to see over 700 staff receive something nourishing for their breakfast earlier today"

This was only made possible with the kind donations from the lovely people at GreggsWaitrose & Partners and Weetabix. Corby based Jackson’s Bakery donated the bread; while the Nespresso machines have been donated by Lycero.

We would also like to thank Kerry and the BaguettAway team who cooked the bacon for today's event.

We have more donations to be distributed to staff in the upcoming days and weeks.
