2019 Trainee and Trainer Awards

The professional excellence of medical students, junior doctors and consultants at Kettering General Hospital has been celebrated with an annual award.
On June 13, 2019, the hospital held its fourth Trainee & Trainer Professional Excellence Awards at the Kettering Park Hotel in Kettering.
The awards are a way for the hospital to say a ‘big thank you’ for the contributions made by medical staff towards patient care, education and training – and this year an amazing 650 nominations were received.
KGH’s Director of Medical Education, Dr Syed Fayyaz Hussain, said: “KGH Trainees and Trainers Professional Excellence Award has become an annual event that recognizes the exceptional performance of the medical staff in promoting high quality patient care.
“The awards celebrate success in promoting a positive culture of team work, supporting each other and ensuring best utilisation of available resources.
“The large number of nominations show appreciation of staff towards their colleagues who have worked over and above that is expected in their roles and of the positive steps they have taken in delivering high quality patient care, education and training.
“The award ceremony is an opportunity to thank our outstanding members of staff for demonstrating personal excellence and making KGH a great organisation to deliver compassionate patient care.”
Kettering General Hospital’s Medical Director, Prof Andrew Chilton, said: “The awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate the quality of the medical education that we deliver at KGH and acknowledge the achievements of our medical students and junior doctors. They also recognise the tremendous support our consultants give to our trainees.”
KGH’s Chief Executive, Simon Weldon, said: ‘These awards recognise the outstanding and inspiring efforts made by our medical students, junior doctors and our clinical supervisors and their teams over the last year. My congratulations go to all of our award winners and to all who were nominated.”
