KGH and NGH taking part in the NHS Rainbow Badge Initiative
The University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHoN) are looking for your feedback around Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT+) inclusion activity within both Kettering and Northampton General Hospitals.
Both Kettering General Hospital (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital (NGH) proudly support the NHS Rainbow Badge initiative.
This programme emphasised that wearing a badge is a responsibility; and provides staff with basic education and access to resources that outline the challenges that LGBTQ+ people can face in relation to accessing healthcare.
KGH and NGH have been successfully selected by NHS England as two of 40 NHS trusts across the country to take part in the second phase of this programme.
The short survey will ask questions about LGBT+ information you might have seen around our hospitals, such as posters and leaflets. Also, the kind of language used by our staff when talking to you about your gender identity.
You do not have to identify as LGBT+ to respond, we are seeking responses from all patients and service users.

We encourage everyone to be honest when completing these surveys as this will help drive our Equality Diversity and Inclusion strategy to make KGH and NGH inclusives places for everyone.
All responses are anonymous which means we do not take any information in the survey that could identify you.
Along with submitting policies impacting LGBT+ individuals, this survey will also be complimented by an additional questionnaire aimed at staff at both Trusts and our service leads.
Once the surveys are completed, both trusts will be awarded a bronze, silver or gold accreditation in line with phase two of the Rainbow Badge programme. There will also be an action plan on how each Trust can improve following the feedback from the surveys.
The survey is open from Monday, 7 March to Wednesday, 20 April 2022.
