Xmas presents for those in need from KGH
Staff from a ward at Kettering General Hospital have pulled together a donation of 30 presents to a county group that supports those in need at Christmas.
Staff – and other local individuals – made the donations to Geddington Ward who presented them to the county’s Earth’s Lonely Angels group on November 26.
The presents will go to disadvantaged elderly, disabled and mentally ill local people to help brighten-up their seasonal celebrations.
KGH Geddington Ward Sister Anna Patrick said: “Each year we work as a ward to support a good cause.
“This year two members of our staff, Lita Porter and Jo Buckby, chose the county’s Earth’s Lonely Angels group.
“Our staff, and other local individuals who have supported us, have donated the presents which are wrapped boxes containing Christmas cards and a wide variety of goods including puzzles, toiletries, food, and other essentials.
“We are delighted with how well this year’s appeal has gone and hope it helps to cheer up some people who really need to be supported around Christmas.”
Earth’s Angels Founder Aine Cullen said: “We are very grateful to Geddington Ward and their supporters for this fantastic donation. The hampers will go to vulnerable local people to help make their Christmas more bearable. That can include lonely elderly people, the disabled or people with mental health difficulties.”
