We’d love to hear what you think about the care and treatment you received during your visit with us. It’s part of the Friends and Family Test, a national initiative that helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve. 

Instead of asking if you’d recommend us to your loved ones, we now simply ask: 

“Overall, how was your experience of our service?” 

You can rate your experience from ‘very good’ to ‘very poor’, and there’s space to tell us more if you’d like: 

  • What made you give that score? 
  • Is there anything we could have done better or differently? 
  • Do you have any compliments for a member of staff or a team? 

Your feedback is completely anonymous, we won’t be able to identify you from your response. Every comment helps us make our services even better for you and others.

All of our departments have paper copies of the Friends and Family Test. If you would prefer to provide your feedback on paper before you leave the hospital, please ask a member of staff.

The Friends and Family Test is a feedback tool that allows patients to provide feedback on their experiences within the NHS.

How is it used?

Patients are asked a simple question: "How likely are you to recommend our [service] to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?" They can also provide free-text comments.
