Computed Tomography (CT) Scan
The Computed Tomography department provides a non invasive medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to create cross-sectional images of the body. We have scanners at Kettering General Hospital and Corby diagnostic centre.
We carry out a variety of examinations including:
- Emergency scans
- Cardiac scans
- Cancer screening and staging
Computed Tomography scans are undertaken in the Radiology Department at the Kettering General Hospital or at Corby. It is very important to check your letter to ensure you attend your appointment at the correct site and time.
The Computed Tomography department is open 8.00am to 8.00pm 7 days a week by appointment only. Emergency scans are carried 24 hours.
For appointments for Kettering General Hospital, please register and book at the Main Radiology reception desk. If the reception desk is closed please go direct to the CT waiting room.
What to wear when coming to your appointment
If possible, please wear loose comfortable clothes, as you may be able to wear these during the CT Scan. Try to avoid wearing jewellery and clothes containing metal (such as zips), as these will need to be removed and you will be provided with a gown.
