KGH Charity Fund now under the umbrella of Northamptonshire Health Charity

New Charity Arrangements for KGH

On April 1st 2021 the KGH Charity Fund merged with Northamptonshire Health Charitable Fund (NHCF). NHCF is an independent charity originally set up to raise funds and oversee their expenditure for Northampton General Hospital (NGH) and Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT). Now that KGH has joined, NHCF will be THE county charity for NHS hospital, mental health and community services.

What this means for KGH?

The merger with NHCF means that KGH will now be supported by a much larger charity team, able to access sources of funding previously not available to NHS Charities. You can still make donations to directly benefit KGH or individual wards, departments and services. Please ask ward or department staff if you would like to donate or follow the links below. (*All donations are receipted and a letter of thanks sent so please include your name and address and please clearly state where you would like your donation to benefit.) If you have donated in the past to a specific area of the hospital please be assured that these funds will continue to be used for their intended purpose. Our Twinkling Stars appeal for a maternity bereavement suite will continue and NHCF has some exciting plans for future fundraising events as the coronavirus restrictions are lifted. The Charity will continue to have a presence on the KGH site – NHCF will be based in the Charity office at Latimer House to receive donations, provide advice on fund-raising and guidance to KGH staff on procedures for receiving donations and accessing funds.

About NHCF

NHCF is an independent charity - led by a Board of 15 Trustees comprising 2 Nominated Trustees from each NHS body and 9 independent Appointed Trustees. KGH will have its own Charity Sub-Committee to oversee the spending of funds to make a real difference for the patients, their families and the staff who look after them. COVID-19 Impact on our charity, fundraisers and supporters

As a Charity, we are working exceptionally hard supporting Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust through this difficult time. To help contain the virus, we are asking our supporters to follow the hospitals advice on visiting and only come into the hospital if absolutely necessary.

In response to this, we have taken the decision to cancel all cheque presentations and non-essential face to face meetings for the coming months and will continue to review this in line with government advice.

The World Health Organisation, British Government and our charity sector bodies advise fundraisers to postpone any planned events until further notice. We will be actively discouraging people to participate in large gatherings and unfortunately won’t be able to promote charity/fundraising events.

We know how much work our fundraisers put into their events and are very sad to have to take a step back, however the health and wellbeing of our community must come first to help protect those who are most vulnerable.

As soon as there are further developments, we will update this page and our social media pages. Find us on Twitter: @NHCFGreenheart or Facebook.

If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the charity team on 01536 491569 or email greenheart@nhcf.co.uk.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this turbulent time.
