Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is
looking to recruit two new Associate Non-Executive Directors to serve on its
Board of Directors.
The Trust – which serves a population of 340,000 in
North Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire – plans to take on the two new
posts from 1st June because of the phased retirement of four of the
existing Non-Executive Directors over the next three years.
The intention is to develop the Associate
Non-Executive Directors into full Non-Executive Director positions within the
next 6-12 months – joining existing Non-Executive Directors Abhai Rajguru, John
Tate, Ian Russell, Chris Saunby, Frank Walsh and Chairman Steve Hone.
Non-Executive Directors are members of the public
with a special interest in health who are appointed by the Governors of Foundation
Trust to represent the public and support and scrutinise the work done by the
Board of Directors.
Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust has a
Board of Directors composed of five Non-Executive Directors and a Chairman and
five Executive Directors (paid full time members of KGH staff).
The Executive Directors are the Medical Director,
Finance Director, Director of Nursing and Quality, Chief Operating Officer and
Chief Executive.
KGH Chairman Steve Hone said: “We are looking for
bright and enthusiastic candidates, preferably experienced at Board level, who
are interested in supporting an NHS organisation and its patients as part of an
experienced Board team.
“For the first role we
are seeking an individual with excellent financial qualifications and background
with a view to membership of our Audit Committee and eventual appointment as
Audit Chair.
“For the second role,
we are seeking someone ideally with a clinical background and/or a strong
empathy with the needs of our patients and service users.
“The successful
Associate Non-Executive candidates will work alongside our existing Non-Executive
Directors, the Chairman, Executive Directors and Council of Governors.
“This is an important
opportunity for a local person to play a key role in supporting the future
development of Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.”
The
positions have a salary of c£6,500 plus travel for work of up to 40 days per
year and applications from all sections of the community are welcome.
