Coming into hospital, even for a short stay, can be a difficult time.  We have a team of Chaplains/Spiritual Caregivers in the hospital, who are trained professionals bound by the NHS rules of confidentiality.  They are available 24 hours a day, visiting wards regularly and are available to listen to and support our patients.  They can offer prayers either with patients or on thier behalf.

The Chapel of Peace, situated to the right of the entrance to the main ward block,  is open at all times and available to people of all faith traditions (or indeed no faith at all), who wish to use it for private prayer or just quiet contemplation.

Services are held every Sunday morning in the Chapel of Peace.  The Christian Sacraments of Holy Baptism, Holy Communion, Anointing and Reconciliation are available at any time.

Patients are able to listen to BBC radio stations on the headsets over their beds.  This hospital also has its own radio station, the Kettering Hospital Broadcasting Association, which is a voluntary organisation and operates Monday to Friday 6.00pm - 10.00pm and 8.30am - 10.00pm at weekends.  They cover all Kettering Town home football matches and the chapel service on Sunday.  You can visit the studio at any time and requests are welcome.

Representation for the Disabled

The Trust has a well-established Disability and Sensory Impairment Working Group (DSIWG) made up of local representatives of the disabled community and hospital staff.

Each year the group is consulted on new developments and seeks out new ways of improving existing facilities.

Past achievements have included improved signs, maps, more coin-operated wheelchairs, hearing loops, disabled parking spaces, new drinking cups and large print menus.
